Security & Compliance

Vaultro is being built on regulated financial infrastructure with an enterprise-grade compliance program. Here's how we protect company funds and data.

How Vaultro works

Vaultro, Inc. is a financial technology company — not a bank. At launch, we will deliver our financial products through a banking partner and a partner issuing bank:

  • Financial accounts & money movement will be provided through our banking partner. Customer funds will be held at an FDIC-insured partner bank — not by Vaultro.
  • Commercial cards will be issued by a partner issuing bank on a major card network, under the Vaultro Corporate Card program.

This model means our platform operates within an established, regulated framework. Vaultro provides the software, user experience, and servicing layer, while regulated banks will hold funds and issue cards. We design our program to meet our partners' requirements and applicable U.S. law, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and anti-money-laundering (AML) regulations.

Banking partnerships

Vaultro is currently evaluating banking-as-a-service providers and sponsor banks to power our financial accounts and card issuing program. We are building our compliance program, policies, and controls to partner-ready standards in parallel, so that integration can begin as soon as agreements are in place. We will announce our partners publicly once those agreements are signed.

Prospective partners: we're happy to share our compliance policies, program design, risk framework, and corporate documentation under NDA as part of a diligence process. Reach us at Rachel@vaultro.com.

Program overview

What we do, and who we serve

Vaultro, Inc. is a newly incorporated (2026) U.S. company based in Diamond Bar, California. We offer a money-management platform to lawful U.S.-registered startups and small businesses. We do not serve consumers, and we do not support high-risk or prohibited activities.

Typical money movement on Vaultro is straightforward business activity: receiving revenue and payouts, paying vendors and payroll via ACH and wires, everyday team spend on controlled commercial cards, and organizing cash into reserves.

Compliance program

A compliance-first platform

Compliance isn't an afterthought — it's built into how Vaultro onboards customers and monitors activity, in alignment with our partners' requirements.

KYC & KYB onboarding

Every customer is verified before an account is opened. We collect and verify identifying information for the business (KYB) and its beneficial owners and controllers (KYC), consistent with Customer Identification Program (CIP) requirements and our partners' onboarding standards.

BSA / AML program

We maintain a written AML program with a designated BSA/AML compliance officer, risk-based policies and procedures, ongoing training, and independent testing.

Transaction monitoring

Account and card activity is monitored for suspicious behavior. We support timely investigation and, where appropriate, escalation and reporting through our partners.

Sanctions screening

Customers and counterparties are screened against OFAC and other applicable sanctions and watchlists at onboarding and on an ongoing basis.

Prohibited & restricted businesses

Vaultro serves lawful U.S. businesses only. We enforce acceptable-use rules aligned with industry-standard restricted-business policies and decline activity that falls outside our program.

Fraud prevention

Layered controls — including device and behavioral signals, velocity checks, and step-up verification — help detect and prevent unauthorized activity across accounts and cards.

Data security

Enterprise-grade protection for your data

We apply defense-in-depth across our infrastructure and will rely on PCI DSS Level 1 certified systems for sensitive payment data.

  • Encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256)
  • Sensitive card data handled by PCI DSS Level 1 certified systems
  • Multi-factor authentication and role-based access control
  • Least-privilege access and continuous logging
  • SOC 2 Type II readiness in progress ahead of launch

How your funds are protected

At launch, funds in Vaultro financial accounts will be held at an FDIC-insured partner bank. USD balances in Vaultro financial accounts can be eligible for FDIC pass-through deposit insurance if they meet certain requirements, up to $250,000 per depositor, per financial institution, for deposits held in the same ownership category. Neither our banking partner nor Vaultro is an FDIC-insured institution; FDIC insurance only protects against the failure of an FDIC-insured depository institution — it does not protect against fraud or the failure of Vaultro or our banking partner. Full disclosures are provided at account opening.

We welcome reports from security researchers. If you believe you've found a vulnerability in a Vaultro system, please email Rachel@vaultro.com with details so we can investigate and respond. Please give us a reasonable time to remediate before any public disclosure, and avoid accessing or modifying data that isn't yours.
